1959 Les Paul Replica (Kris Derrig) with Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro humbuckers into Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 / JCM800 2203 with 4x12 cab, digital delay, and plate reverb
| Knob | Setting (0–10) |
|---|---|
| Gain | 7 |
| Bass | 6 |
| Treble | 4 |
| Master | 6 |
01Boss DD-3 Digital Delay
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned (adds the studio solo space and trailing sustain)
02Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned (smooths the high-end fizz on solid-state practice amps)
The Glarry GA-20 lacks a dedicated midrange control, presence, and onboard reverb, so mid and presence are set to null while treble is dialed back to 4 to tame the small 8-inch speaker's inherent brightness. Single-coil pickups on the Glarry GST lack the output and thickness of Slash's Alnico II humbuckers, so gain is pushed to 7 on the drive channel and the guitar's tone control is rolled down to 7 for a warmer, vocal-like neck pickup sweep. If you add the recommended overdrive pedal later, switch the amp to the clean channel with gain at 2. Outro fast solo: switch to the bridge pickup with tone wide open at 10.
