How it works

Three steps. Then you're playing.

Every rig sounds different. That's the problem with settings videos — they're dialed for someone else's gear. ToneAdapt starts from yours.

01

Build your rig

Add your guitar or bass, your amp, and your pedalboard. We know hundreds of amps and 150+ pedals and multi-FX — from a Katana in a bedroom to a full tube stack.

02

Pick a song

Search any track — Metallica, Nirvana, Polyphia, corridos tumbados — or start from a tone another player already matched in Explore.

03

Dial it in

Get exact knob positions, pedal settings and pickup choice for your gear — with the reasoning behind every move, so your ear gets better each match.

Built for real rigs

Bedroom rig. Arena tone.

Most of the players here are chasing heavy tones on gear that costs less than a Rectifier's footswitch. That's the rig ToneAdapt is tuned for.

Any amp

Practice amp to tube stack

ToneAdapt doesn't hand you a generic preset — it translates the tone to your amp's actual knobs. Katana, Mustang, Spark, Champion, or that Marshall you saved up for.

Pedals ride along

Your pedalboard, in the chain

Save your pedals once and every match uses them — drive levels, gate thresholds, when to stomp and when to stay clean.

Heavy

Drop tunings, tight

Boost in front, gate behind, mids where the mix can hear them. Matches account for drop C, B and 7-strings instead of just cranking gain.

New

Bass mode

Flip one switch and match bass tones — 26 basses, bass amps, bass-aware AI. Low-enders aren't an afterthought.

Explore

Steal great tones

Browse tones the community already matched, then adapt any of them to your rig in one tap.

Learn

Know the why

Every match explains itself — why the mids are scooped, why the gate is fast — so you learn to dial it yourself.

The proof

10,000 players. 100,000 riffs dialled in.

Straight answers

What do I get for free?

One full tone match — the real thing, not a preview. Build your rig, pick a song, get your settings, no card needed. After that, Pro unlocks unlimited matches and keeps the app ad-free.

Will it work with my amp?

If your amp has knobs, yes. ToneAdapt covers hundreds of amps by name, and for anything not listed you can build a rig by control layout — the settings translate to whatever is in front of you.

Do I need pedals?

No. Matches work with an amp alone. Add pedals and every match starts using them automatically — drive levels, gate settings, and which ones to leave off.

Can I cancel?

Any time, in two taps from your Google Play subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.

Who makes ToneAdapt for Android?

OVRN, an independent developer. This app and this site are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other app, company or website using a similar name. Questions go to support@gettoneadapt.com.

How do I get the app?

Tap any download button on this page — it takes you straight to our listing on Google Play, published by OVRN. It runs on Android phones and tablets.

Stop scrolling settings forums.
Start riffing.

Pick a song, get your knob settings in about 30 seconds. Your amp is sitting right there, and it's already too quiet.
