27 amp settings — Fender Champion 20
The Titlefight guitar tone for “27”, dialed in for a Fender Champion 20 with a Gibson SG Modern. Studio album cut, Shed (2011)
Gibson Les Paul Custom / SG into Vox AC15TB (cranked Top Boost) & Marshall JCM800 2203 / Silver Jubilee blend
| Knob | Setting (0–10) |
|---|---|
| Gain | 2 |
| Bass | 6 |
| Treble | 5 |
| Reverb | 0 |
| Master | 6 |
Because the Boss DS-1 provides the primary distortion, the Champion 20 is set to the clean '65 Twin voice with gain kept at 2 to prevent muddy double-gain staging. The DS-1 Tone is backed down to 4 to round off harsh solid-state clipping and mimic the pushed British midrange of Jamie's cranked tube amps. Note that the Champion 20 faceplate has no mid or presence knobs, so EQ shaping relies on the Treble/Bass balance and the DS-1 Tone control.
