01Distortion Pedal (RECOMMENDED — Boss DS-1 or ProCo RAT)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for this tone. The Champion 20's overdrive channel lacks the saturation needed for Bogner Uberschall territory. Run pedal into amp's CLEAN channel with amp gain at 2-3 once acquired.
The Bogner Uberschall is a high-gain monster with tight, focused mids—the opposite of the Champion 20's scooped Fender voicing. I pushed mid to 7 to compensate for Fender's natural mid-scoop and rolled treble to 5 because your Strat's single coils are brighter and thinner than Syn's Invader humbuckers. Using the neck pickup with tone at 7 fattens the single coil to approximate humbucker warmth. Without a distortion pedal, this is the closest the Champion can get, but acquiring a DS-1 or RAT is the real solution.
