Why these settings

Because Thergothon tracked without a bass guitar using heavily down-tuned guitars and massive fuzz, your Big Muff handles the primary gain into Channel 1 of the Champion 40, keeping amp gain clean at 2 to prevent muddy double-clipping. The Champion 40 lacks a mid knob, so the amp's treble is rolled back to 3 and bass pushed to 8 while the GE-7 boosts low fundamentals and shelves fizzy top-end. The Phase 90 and RV-6 recreate the distinct swirling, cavernous 1992 recording ambience.

PRO TIPDown-tune to C standard or B standard and hit power chords with slow, heavy downstrokes, letting the Phase 90 cycle fully through each sustained chord.
