The Champion 20 lacks a dedicated mid knob, so using the Tweed voice injects the essential mid-range growl and natural tube-like breakup that SRV got from cranked Fender circuits. Your Cort CR300 has humbuckers instead of SRV's single coils, so treble is boosted to 7 to reclaim single-coil top-end snap, and the neck+middle pickup position simulates the hollow clarity of a Strat. If you add a TS9 later, lower amp gain to 4 and let the pedal drive the front end.
