01Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi (or clone)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for this tone; the Big Muff provides the singing sustain that defines the track. A Nano Big Muff or EHX Green Russian reissue works.

RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Set delay time to ~480ms with one clear repeat. Any analog-voiced delay works.
The Fender Champion 20 is a solid-state practice amp with bright Fender voicing but no tube compression. The original Hiwatt is cleaner and tighter than most tube amps, so the Champion actually approximates that clarity well. I pushed mids +1 over the original Hiwatt settings because the Champion lacks the natural midrange warmth of the Hiwatt's EL34 power section. Reverb replaces the original's plate reverb (studio effect). Without the Big Muff, this tone is unobtainable — the amp's gain alone cannot produce that infinite sustain character.
