Why these settings

The SLO-100 is a naturally thick, warm, all-tube circuit, so we need to scoop the mids slightly down to 4 and crank the treble and presence to mimic the harsh, razor-sharp transient attack of Dimebag's solid-state Randall. The Gibson Explorer's bridge humbucker supplies thick low-end punch, but you will need aggressive picking attack to simulate the searing output of an L-500XL. With an external graphic EQ pedal, you can push the upper midrange frequencies into the front or loop to nail the signature biting resonance.

PRO TIPDig in hard near the bridge with an extra-heavy, sharp plectrum; Dimebag relied on extreme pick attack combined with palm-muted percussive chugs to trigger that iconic mechanical bite.
