Why these settings

The Pathfinder 10 is a small practice amp with no mid control and insufficient gain for this Mesa Dual Rectifier tone. Its bass/treble-only EQ and 6.5-inch speaker cannot replicate the massive low-end or saturated sustain of the original. A DS-1 or similar distortion pedal is mandatory to reach the gain required — set the amp near-clean and let the pedal provide all the dirt. Bass is set high to compensate for the small speaker's lack of low-end authority; treble is reduced to prevent fizz through the limited headroom.
