Why these settings

The Pathfinder 10 is a small solid-state practice amp with limited headroom—it cannot produce Laney-style power tube saturation. Amp gain is dropped to 3 to serve as a clean platform; the DS-2 provides all distortion. Iommi's extreme treble/mid settings are compensated: your Strat's single coils are already brighter than his P-90 SG, so treble stays at 7 instead of maxed. The Pathfinder has no mid control, but its voicing is naturally scooped—this accidentally approximates Iommi's bass-at-zero approach.
