The Champion 20 lacks a dedicated mid knob and presence control — its overdrive voice is darker and looser than a Marshall JMP. Treble pushed to 7 compensates for the Fender's scooped voicing. Bass kept at 4 to avoid mud from the 8-inch speaker. The amp's built-in overdrive won't reach the tight saturation of a cranked Marshall; an SD-1 in front on the clean channel is the correct path to this tone.
