Why these settings

The Glarry GA-20 is a small solid-state practice amp with bass/treble only (no mid, no presence, no reverb) and cannot produce high-gain saturation on its own. The DS-1 becomes the gain source—amp stays clean (gain 3) to avoid stacking mud. Bass kept moderate (4) because the small speaker loses definition when pushed. Treble at 6 compensates for the DS-1's slight fizz and the Glarry's darker voicing vs the original JMP-1's bite.

PRO TIPPalm-mute hard and close to the bridge for that percussive chunk—Carpenter's attack is tight and deliberate, not loose. The tone is bone-dry, so bypass both your DD-8 and RV-6 completely.
