01Boss CH-1 Super Chorus
Provides the quintessential Robin Guthrie liquid modulation sweep
02Boss DD-8 Digital Delay
Set to Standard mode (Mode 1) for pristine rhythmic repeats around 380ms
03Boss RV-6 Reverb
Set Mode to Modulate (or Shimmer) to create the signature cavernous dream-pop wash
The Champion 40 operates on its ultra-clean Channel 1 to mimic Robin Guthrie's pristine Roland JC-120 direct platform. Channel 1 features only Bass and Treble controls, so the missing Mid and Presence are omitted while Treble is boosted to replicate single-coil sparkle on your humbucker/single Ibanez. The amp's internal FX are bypassed to let the CH-1, DD-8, and RV-6 pedal chain generate the signature wet, ethereal space.
