01Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive
Used as an input tightener/boost into the Metal voice — cuts flub and pushes single-coil output
On the Champion 20, the Metal 2000 voice provides the modern cascading saturation of Synyster's JVM205H/Bogner setup while omitting the absent mid and presence controls. Your Telecaster bridge single coil has less low-end girth and sharper bite than an SD Invader humbucker, so roll the guitar tone back to 8 and keep amp treble at 5. The Boss SD-1 is set as a clean level boost with near-zero drive to tighten the bass response before the 8-inch speaker breaks up. Clean intro switch: turn off the SD-1 and switch the Champion Voice knob to Blackface Clean.
