01Boss DS-1 or similar distortion pedal
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for reaching Bogner-style saturation. Run amp on CLEAN channel (Voice switch OFF) with gain at 2-3 when using this pedal.
The Fender Champion 20 cannot reach Bogner Uberschall saturation levels even with gain maxed — the overdrive channel tops out at blues-rock territory. Without a distortion pedal, I've given you the closest achievable crunch: gain maxed, bass pulled back to reduce flub from the 8-inch speaker, treble moderate to retain bite without fizz. A DS-1 or similar pedal into the clean channel is the real solution for this tone.
