Why these settings

The Fender Acoustasonic 15 is an acoustic combo amp — it has no gain stage, no mid control, and a fundamentally different voicing than a tube Deluxe Reverb. It will not break up or produce natural sustain. The OD100 is essential here to add the compression and harmonic saturation Clapton got from a pushed tube amp. I dropped Treble to 4 (vs original ~5-6) because the Acoustasonic can get harsh with humbuckers, and rolled your guitar tone knob to 5 to mimic Clapton's warmer, rolled-off lead sound. Reverb set to 0 because the original recording is relatively dry (doubling effect was added in mix, not reverb).

PRO TIPClapton's 'weeping' quality comes from slow, deliberate vibrato applied AFTER the note blooms — let the note sustain for a half-beat, then add wide finger vibrato. Also, dig in with your pick attack on note onsets, then ease off to let the OD100's compression do the sustaining. Your DC-580's humbuckers will help here.
