Why these settings

The Freeman G10 is a compact solid-state practice amp with a 2-band EQ (bass/treble, no mid or presence knobs), so mid and presence controls are set to null. Running the built-in drive channel with gain at 8 and treble pushed to 8 captures the biting, solid-state Randall clipping Dimebag used on the record, while bass is set to 7 to prevent the small speaker from flubbing out on heavy palm mutes. An external 6-band graphic EQ pedal is recommended to achieve the true scooped-800Hz Dimebag signature curve.

PRO TIPDimebag's attack comes from hard, aggressive downpicking right next to the bridge saddles combined with tight left-hand muting to create the percussive, mechanical chug of the main riff.
