Since you do not own the MXR Distortion + or graphic EQ, use the DSL40CR's Ultra Gain OD1 channel with gain at 7 to supply the aggressive clipping. Push the mid knob to 8 and keep bass tight at 5 to emulate Randy's signature 500Hz EQ hump and Altec speaker response. If you acquire an MXR Distortion +, switch to the Classic Gain Crunch channel and drop amp gain to 2-3.
