Why these settings

The Vox Pathfinder 10 is a 10W guitar practice amp with no mid or presence controls and a single 6.5" speaker — it cannot produce bass fuzz on its own and will sound thin/farty if you push gain. Keep it near-clean (gain 3) as a platform. Bass boosted to 7 compensates for the small speaker losing low-end; treble at 5 prevents fizz. The SR300E's active EQ and humbuckers are hotter than the original Pedulla — roll bass boost flat on the bass itself to avoid mud. Without a Big Muff or similar fuzz, this tone is unreachable; the recommended pedal is non-negotiable for Hysteria.

PRO TIPPlay with a pick, hard and consistent downstrokes near the bridge, palm-muting slightly on the open E notes to keep the fuzz tight — Wolstenholme's attack is half the tone. If you get a Big Muff, run your SR300E's onboard bass EQ flat or slightly cut to keep the fuzz defined rather than woolly.
