The Vox AC10C1 is a Top Boost design with naturally chimey, scooped mids and no dedicated midrange knob, contrasting sharply with Slash's thick Marshall Silver Jubilee stack. We dial the Treble back to 4 to tame the Vox EL84 bite and push Gain to 8 to reach natural valve saturation from the amp alone. Switching to the neck pickup with guitar Tone rolled back to 7 smooths the high-end attack and provides the iconic flutey, violin-like sustain.

PRO TIPFor the first two soaring solos, Slash plays exclusively on the neck pickup with the tone knob rolled down slightly to round off the transient spike, switching to the bridge pickup only for the aggressive, high-energy outro solo.
