01Boss GT-1 — OD-1/TS type overdrive block
Use the OD-1 or TS model in the GT-1 as a clean boost to push the AC10 into breakup. This compensates for the AC10's lower wattage and Class A compression vs a cranked 100W Plexi. Set GT-1 preamp/amp sim to BYPASS — use only the OD block into the real amp.
The AC10C1 is a Class A EL84 amp with characteristic Vox chime—brighter and more compressed than a Plexi's EL34 mid-bark. I dropped bass from the original's 5 to 4 to prevent flub in the smaller speaker, cut treble from 7 to 6 to tame the AC10's inherent brightness, and the AC10 lacks a mid knob so mid control comes from the GT-1 OD's tone stack. The GT-1 overdrive block adds the push that Angus got from sheer Plexi volume and the SVDS compressor/boost.
