The Champion 20 is a solid-state Fender with a naturally scooped, bright voicing — the opposite of the mid-forward Plexi. Pushed mids to 6 (vs original's 5) to compensate for the Fender scoop. Dropped treble to 5 (original was 6.5) because the Champion's treble is harsher than a tube Plexi. Your Stagg has single coils vs the original's hot humbucker, so gain is raised to 6 to compensate for lower output. Rolled tone knob to 7 to tame single-coil ice-pick.
