Clean boost tightening in front to focus the low end into the high-gain channel
Vintage High Gain mode gives the Rectifier a tighter, more mid-focused response similar to early 90s Westbeach Recorders punk tracks. Because a Player Strat single-coil has lower output and brighter chime than DeLonge's hot humbuckers, the SD-1 is engaged as a level-boost with drive at 0 to push front-end saturation without muddying the tone. The bass is kept moderate at 5 to prevent the Rectifier's low-end flub on fast skate-punk palm mutes.
