Why these settings

The GA-20 is a basic solid-state practice amp with bass/treble only — no mid or presence controls exist on its faceplate. Solid-state amps cannot replicate Marshall power tube saturation, so an overdrive pedal in front is mandatory to get the harmonic crunch Angus achieves. Bass dropped to 4 because your Strat's single coils are brighter and thinner than an SG's humbuckers — compensating for the missing low-mid warmth.

PRO TIPRoll your Strat's tone knob to 8 to tame the ice-pick highs that single coils add vs the SG's warmer humbuckers — this gets you closer to that thick bridge-humbucker bark on the original.
