RECOMMENDED — not owned. The Behringer GM108 cannot reach Nugent's saturated crunch alone; a basic OD pedal into the clean amp gets the gritty push. Set amp gain to 3-4 when using this pedal.

Why these settings

The GM108 is an 8-watt solid-state practice amp with limited gain saturation and no mid control. Nugent's original tone came from maxed tube amps driving hard into big speakers — unreachable here without a dirt pedal. Treble at 7 compensates for the GM108's darker voicing vs the bright Fender cleans; bass at 6 keeps low-end present without flubbing the small speaker. Without an OD pedal, push gain to 8 and accept a thinner approximation.

PRO TIPNugent's snarling feedback came from the hollow Byrdland body resonating at high volume — on a solid-body Dean, face the amp and lean into notes to coax harmonic sustain, and dig in hard with the pick near the bridge for that aggressive attack.
