01Boss MT-2 Metal Zone
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The MT-2 is essential to the Toxicity scoop. A used one runs $30-50. Without it, push amp gain to 10 and accept a less-scooped tone.
The MG10 is a solid-state practice amp with limited headroom and a fizzy high-gain voice compared to the original tube rigs. I dropped bass from the original's 6 to 4 because the MG10's small speaker flubs out with too much low-end in Drop C. Mid is scooped to 3 to approximate the MT-2's signature cut. Without the MT-2, you will get a thinner, less aggressive version — the pedal is doing most of the tonal heavy lifting on the original recording.
