Why these settings

The Yamaha THR10II is darker and more compressed than Dime's harsh solid-state Randall, so treble goes +1 from his typical 6 to cut through, and mid stays low (3) because the THR's mid voicing is already warmer. The Pacifica's Alnico V humbucker has less output than Dime's Seymour Duncan—gain at 7 compensates. The EQ block is mandatory: without that 2kHz spike, you get generic high-gain, not Dime's scalpel tone.

PRO TIPDime picked extremely hard directly over the bridge pickup pole pieces with the meaty part of his pick for maximum attack—angle your pick 45° and dig in aggressively on the percussive chugs; soft picking kills this tone dead.
