Why these settings

The Boss GT-1 uses a clean Twin Reverb amp model to act as the pedal platform while the onboard DS-1 (OD/DS block) provides the aggressive grunge saturation. Amp gain is kept low at 2 to prevent muddy double-gain stacking. The Tagima TW61 P-90 bridge pickup delivers plenty of gritty cut, requiring only a slight bump in the DS-1 Tone to match the biting top end of the Bleach recording.

PRO TIPHit the open low E string hard with a heavy downstroke pick attack right near the bridge to get that signature raspy, percussive Kurt Cobain grunge rasp.
