Why these settings

The original uses EMG 81 active humbuckers into a cranked Orange Rockerverb — massive output and compression your Strat single coils cannot match. The GT-1 HI-GAIN model gets the saturation level; the OD boost block tightens the flubby low-end that high gain causes on modelers. Mid pushed to 7 compensates for single coils' thinner midrange vs EMG 81. Presence kept moderate (5) because the Strat bridge pickup is already bright. Reverb is 0 — Iowa is bone dry.

PRO TIPTune to Drop B if possible (you'll need heavier strings, .012-.054 minimum). If staying in standard, the riff still works but loses the crushing low-end weight. Palm mute HARD directly over the bridge saddles and attack with a thick pick (1mm+) angled slightly — Jim Root's chunk comes from aggressive right-hand technique, not just gain.
