RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; tightens low-end flub on drop-tuned riffs
The Fender Champion 40 uses a 2-band EQ (Bass/Treble) and lacks a dedicated Middle or Presence knob on the faceplate. Select the Metal 2000/High Gain voice to replicate the EVH 5150 saturation, dialing back the bass slightly to prevent the 12-inch open-back speaker from getting muddy on the Drop C/Drop A# tuning. Adding an OD808-style clean boost in front is strongly recommended to tighten pick-attack tracking.
