RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential to tighten low end and add midrange push that compensates for your Strat's lower output and brighter voicing. The original rig used the Mesa preamp for this function; a TS into your JCM800 replicates that tight, focused saturation.
Your JCM800 2203 is literally half of Hetfield's original rig — he used it as the power amp. The challenge is your Strat: single coils are brighter and lower output than his hot humbuckers, so I raised bass +1 and kept mids scooped at 3 to match the signature thrash scoop. The TS pedal is critical — it adds the compression, mid-focus, and low-end tightening that the Mesa preamp provided on the original. Without it, your tone will be looser and thinner.
