Why these settings

The original Meteora-era tone relies on a cranked Mesa Dual Rectifier for a massive wall of sound. On the solid-state Marshall MG15G, the OD channel provides the necessary saturation, while pulling the mids to 4 and pushing the Contour control around 7 simulates the American scooped-mid character out of a British-voiced practice amp. Your Ibanez RG550 bridge humbucker has plenty of output to drive the preamp cleanly without turning muddy.

PRO TIPTune down to Drop C# (Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb) with heavy pick attack close to the bridge to capture the tight, percussive chug heard on the Meteora session tracks.
