Why these settings

The MG15G is a solid-state Marshall with scooped mids compared to the Vox AC30's chimey, mid-present character. I've pushed bass +1 and cut mids -1 from original AC30 settings because the MG already lacks that Vox midrange warmth. Gain is high (8) to compensate for no fuzz pedal, but this will sound tighter and less woolly than the original — the Coopersonic valve distortion is irreplaceable without a dedicated fuzz. The MG15G has no onboard reverb, so that atmospheric depth is unachievable without an external reverb pedal.

PRO TIPPalm mute lightly just behind the bridge and pick slowly with downstrokes only — the riff's hypnotic feel comes from that percussive, deliberate attack, not from sustain. Roll your tone knob to 6 to tame the ST-20's single-coil brightness and get closer to the Jazzmaster's darker bridge voicing.
