Why these settings

The Vox Pathfinder 10 is a small guitar combo with no mid or presence knob — bass/treble only. The GK 800RB is a punchy, bright solid-state bass head with scooped character. To compensate on the Pathfinder: push treble to 8 for Duff's crisp attack, bass to 7 for low-end body, keep gain low (3) for clean headroom. The 6.5" speaker cannot reproduce true bass frequencies — this is a practice-level approximation. Your P-Bass has only a split-coil pickup (no blend), so use neck position with tone open for maximum brightness.

PRO TIPDuff used Rotosound Swing Bass 66 strings and played with a pick near the bridge for that aggressive, defined attack — the pick technique is half his sound. Dial tone knob back to 7-8 if it gets too harsh through the small speaker.
