The Fender Champion 40 has a 2-band EQ (bass and treble only, no physical mid or presence knobs) with an inherently scooped Blackface clean channel. Tommy Bolin used a Strat into punchy, mid-heavy British stacks, so we use Channel 1 clean and engage your TS9 as the main drive to inject the signature mid-hump and tight British bark without harsh solid-state clipping. Keep the Champion's treble balanced around 6 so your Ibanez bridge humbucker doesn't get overly fizzy.
