Chuck relied on an ultra-high-output DiMarzio X2N humbucker hitting a solid-state Valvestate contour circuit. To replicate that massive saturation and body on a low-output Strat single coil, use OD2 mode with the gain pushed to 8, bass boosted to 7 to compensate for thin pickups, and treble dialed back to 5 so the single coil doesn't become shrill. The Resonance control should be set to 6 on the DSL panel to mimic the chunky 4x12 low-end thump. Clean intro: switch to Classic Gain Clean channel, tone knob 10.
