Pete Loeffler's massive tone comes from cascaded Mesa Mark IV preamp saturation with a classic graphic EQ V-scoop. The Orange Crush 12 has thick, warm low-mids and a 6-inch speaker, so the TS9 is configured strictly as a clean boost with Tone pushed to 7 and Drive at 0 to shave loose low-end before hitting the preamp. On the amp, Gain is set to 7, Mid is trimmed to 4 to replicate the Mark IV scoop, and Treble is boosted to 7 to compensate for the Orange's darker voicing. Clean verse: roll guitar volume down to 3-4 with the TS9 bypassed.

PRO TIPPete Loeffler tuned down to Drop B (B-F#-B-E-G#-C#) with heavy gauge strings; tune to Drop B and use aggressive, highly anchored bridge palm-muting right against the saddles to get the sharp percussive chunk heard on the record.
