Why these settings

The Frontman's analog solid-state drive channel is engaged to get the necessary saturation, but bass is kept moderate at 5 to prevent the small speaker from flubbing out on the low Drop B tuning. The treble is set at 6 to mimic the grinding upper-mid bite of Pete Loeffler's Dual Rectifier without becoming overly fizzy. Adding a dedicated high-gain distortion pedal in the future will provide a much tighter, heavier low-end thump than the practice amp's internal gain stage.

PRO TIPChevelle tracks are tuned down to Drop B (B-F#-B-E-G#-C#); use heavy gauge strings (at least 11-56) on the short-scale miKro to maintain string tension, and strike hard right over the bridge pickup with a heavy pick for maximum percussive attack.
