Why these settings

The Frontman is a solid-state clean amp with bright Fender voicing — the opposite of the warm, compressed AC30 tube saturation on the record. I've cranked the gain to max useful range and cut treble hard to compensate for the Frontman's brightness and your Strat's single coils (brighter and thinner than Turner's Jazzmaster humbuckers). Without a fuzz pedal, you will get a thin, crunchy overdrive instead of the record's thick wall of fuzz — this is a fundamental gear gap.

PRO TIPPalm-mute the riff lightly with the heel of your picking hand resting on the strings near the bridge — Turner plays this riff with a deliberate, percussive, almost muted attack that gives it that hypnotic, drum-like pulse. The fuzz does the sustain work; your hand controls the thump.
