The Avenged sevenfold guitar tone for “Unholy confessions”, dialed in for a Line 6 Spider 3 with a Fender Player Stratocaster. Studio version, Waking the Fallen (2003)
Gibson Les Paul Custom (bridge humbucker) → MXR MC401 Boost → Bogner Uberschall 120W head

The Spider 3's Insane channel approximates the Uberschall's high-gain saturation. Strat bridge single-coil lacks humbucker output and low-end, so gain is pushed to 9 and bass to 7 (vs Bogner's original 8.5 gain / 6 bass). Mids scooped to 3 to capture the modern metal voicing—Uberschall is naturally mid-forward, Spider 3 Insane is not, so we pull mids back hard. Treble at 8 compensates for Strat's thinner attack versus Les Paul humbucker warmth.
