01Boss ME-80 — Preamp/OD (TS type)

Use as a clean boost to tighten low-end and push mids — this mimics the Tube Screamer-style boost common in studio metal tracking. Set ME-80 amp sim to BYPASS so the Blackstar handles the core gain.

High gain = noise; engage gate to keep palm mutes tight

03Boss ME-80 — EQ (Parametric or GEQ)

Boost 800Hz–1kHz region slightly to add midrange bark that the ID:Core's voicing lacks vs a Hellwin/Uberschall

Why these settings

The Blackstar ID:Core's OD2 channel is the closest to a saturated modern high-gain voice. Set ISF fully clockwise (British) to get the aggressive upper-mid bite of the Hellwin/Uberschall. Your Synyster Standard uses Schecter Diamond pickups — slightly lower output than the Invaders on the original, so gain stays at 8 rather than dropping it. The ME-80 TS-style boost is critical: it tightens the low-end and adds midrange focus that the ID:Core's digital modeling otherwise lacks.

PRO TIPPalm mute directly over the bridge saddles — not further up the strings — to get that chunky, percussive low-end attack on the main riff without mud. The original tracking used very precise right-hand placement to keep the chugs defined at high gain.
