Why these settings

The Aroma AG-20 is a compact practice amp with only Gain, Bass, Treble, and Master controls (no mid, presence, or reverb knobs), so engage the Distortion button and push Gain to 8 for maximum saturation. High-output ceramic humbuckers on the Jackson JS32 provide plenty of drive, so keep Treble at 5 and roll the guitar tone knob back to 8 to avoid brittle solid-state fizz and recreate Kenny Hickey's dark, heavy low-mid wall. If you add a chorus pedal later, keep the amp on drive but dial Treble back slightly to retain low-end clarity. Clean intro switch: disengage the Distortion button and roll guitar volume to 7.

PRO TIPTune your guitar down two full steps to B Standard (B-E-A-D-F#-B) with heavy gauge strings (.012-.056); the immense, subterranean weight of this track relies fundamentally on string slack and low-frequency resonance rather than extreme treble bite.
