The Fender Rumble has a naturally scooped, round voice, so the mid knob is pushed high and the 'Bright' voicing switch is activated to emulate Justin Chancellor's signature 800Hz Wal bark. Because you own no pedals, engage the Rumble's built-in Overdrive circuit with Drive at 6 and Level around 7 to reproduce the gritty top-end from his Mesa/RAT distortion channel. On the 4-band EQ of the Rumble 40, set Low-Mid to 7 and High-Mid to 8. Clean intro/ambient sections: disengage the Rumble Overdrive button.
