The Frontman 15G has a 2-band EQ (no mid knob) and an analog drive channel that can get fizzy with high treble, so treble is held at 5 and the Strat tone rolled back to 8 to soften single-coil harshness. The original is an in-the-box modern high-gain production, so engaging the amp's built-in Drive button at gain 6 provides playable rhythm saturation today. Once you add a dedicated distortion pedal, switch the amp back to the Clean channel with gain at 2 for a much tighter low-end.
