RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The Frontman 15G's solid-state gain lacks the harmonic saturation of the Valvestate + WEM combo. A cheap TS clone (Joyo Vintage Overdrive, Behringer TO800) will add the midrange push and compression Noel got from cranking that Space Echo preamp. Without this pedal, the tone will be thin and fizzy at high gain.

Why these settings

The Frontman 15G is a scooped, bright solid-state practice amp — the opposite of the warm, mid-heavy Valvestate/WEM stack. Compensate by maxing mids to 8 (vs Noel's reported 7-8) and pulling treble down to 5 to avoid ice-pick harshness. Gain at 7 is as far as this amp goes before getting fizzy; a drive pedal is essential to get the compressed, harmonically-rich crunch of the original. Your CST-24's humbuckers are hotter than a vintage Les Paul, so no gain compensation needed there.

PRO TIPNoel's secret weapon was the Space Echo's preamp section cranked full — not the delay. Roll your tone knob to 7 to simulate the slight high-end rolloff that tube saturation provides, and dig in hard with your pick near the bridge for that aggressive attack on the main riff.
