Why these settings

The MG30CFX's OD1 channel is tighter than OD2 and closer to the JCM800's focused midrange. Bass is dropped to 4 (vs a typical 5-6) because Drop C tuning adds massive low-end that will mud out the MG's smaller speaker. Mid pushed to 7 compensates for the MG's slightly scooped voicing compared to a real JCM. Your Les Paul's hotter humbuckers vs Daron's SG mean you need slightly less gain than the original.

PRO TIPFor the clean arpeggiated intro, switch to the Clean channel with gain at 2, and roll your guitar volume knob to 6—this cleans up the signal while keeping warmth. The original intro has a subtle phaser; if you ever add an MXR Phase 90, set Speed to 3 for that slow swirl.
