RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. This is critical to the Iron Man tone. The Rangemaster cut bass and pushed the amp into saturation. Without it, you lose the grinding bite. A basic treble booster or clean boost with the tone rolled bright gets you 80% there.
Your Jackson JS22 has high-output humbuckers vs Iommi's lower-output P90s — this means less gain needed (8 vs cranked 10) to avoid mud. The MG30CFX's OD1 channel is voiced tighter and brighter than a vintage Laney, so mid is pushed to 8 to recover that boxy, honking midrange. Bass dropped to 4 because the MG's solid-state low end gets flubby fast; Iommi ran bass at 0 on the Laney. Contour (MG's scoop control) stays low at 3 to keep mids present.
