01Noise Gate (Headrush block)

Essential for tight chugs—kills string noise between hits

Threshold 6 · Decay 2

02Tube Screamer / Overdrive (Headrush block)

Use as a clean boost to tighten the amp's low-end—zero drive, level pushed

Drive 0 · Tone 6 · Level 7

03Parametric/Graphic EQ (Headrush block)

Scoop 400-800Hz for that modern metal midrange cut, boost upper mids for pick attack

100Hz 4 · 400Hz 3 · 800Hz 2 · 2kHz 6 · 4kHz 5

04High-Gain Amp Model (Headrush block) — RECOMMENDED

Select 'PV Panama' (6505) or 'Recto' model on Headrush and run into Champion's power amp in or use Headrush direct to PA/monitors. The Champion alone cannot achieve this gain level authentically.

Gain 7 · Bass 5 · Mid 3 · Treble 6 · Presence 5
Why these settings

The Fender Champion 100 is a clean-voiced solid-state amp that cannot produce the saturated high-gain needed for 'Nero Forte.' Your Headrush is the real weapon here—use its Recto or 6505 amp model as the primary tone source, and treat the Champion as a clean power amp (plug Headrush into the power amp in or use direct output). Your Baritone Tele's passive single coils are lower output than the original EMG actives, so the Headrush's amp model gain is pushed to 7 and the TS boost compensates for the output difference.

PRO TIPSlipknot's chug tone relies heavily on right-hand palm-mute position—anchor your palm directly over the saddles for maximum thud, and use the thickest part of the pick attacking at a slight downward angle for that percussive 'click' that cuts through the mix.
