Why these settings

The original uses a Mesa Dual Rectifier's high-gain Red channel — a sound the Frontman 10G physically cannot reach. Keep the amp nearly clean (gain 7 is its usable max before harsh breakup) and let a distortion pedal handle ALL the saturation. Bass dropped to 4 because the 6-inch speaker muddies quickly; treble at 6 adds the cut the Squier's ceramic humbuckers need. Without a distortion pedal, you will get a crunchy practice-amp sound, not this tone.

PRO TIPYour Squier Contemporary has humbuckers closer to the original Les Paul output than a traditional Strat — use the bridge pickup with tone wide open and pick aggressively right over the bridge saddles for that tight, percussive palm-mute attack.
