The original relies on high-gain tube saturation (Soldano/Mesa) pushed by a Boss Metal Zone into thick humbuckers. Because the Blues Junior IV is a vintage-voiced tube platform without an owned dirt pedal, engage the FAT boost button and push Gain to 9 with boosted Mids to extract the maximum aggressive drive from the preamp. To reach the authentic scooped-yet-thick high-gain wall of sound, add a dedicated high-gain distortion like a Boss MT-2 or DS-1 and switch the amp gain back down to 3.
